News rumors and informations about Lucy Liu

"True Blood" star Deborah Ann Woll is joining Ellen Burstyn, Marcia Gay Harden, Lucy Liu and Stephen Lang in the drama Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You .
www.comingsoon.net | August 19, 2010
The Italian production starts shooting today in Central Park, New York City. The Oscar-winning actress joins Marcia Gay Harden, Toby Regbo (Harry Potter ), Lucy Liu (Charlie's Angels ), Stephen Lang (Avatar ) and Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) in this coming-of-age story. Italian financiers including RAI Cinema are fully financing this adaptation of the teenage novel by New York-based author Peter Cameron, which was a bestseller in Italy. The novel tells a Holden Caufield-ish tale of a teenager working in his mother’s pretentious Manhattan art gallery, where he finds himself accused of sexual harassment. Roberto Faenza is the director and the producer is Elda Ferri (Life Is Beautiful ). It’s a wholly Italian-financed production, partly financed by RAI Cinema. One footnote is that the script is by Dahlia Heyman, step-sister of Harry Potter producer David Heyman. By my reckoning, she’s the fifth member of the Heyman dynasty to enter the business. Her father John Heyman is a producer who’s developing a feature about British Olympic skier Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards, with Rupert Grint attached. Norma Heyman is one of Britain’s most respected producers (Mrs Henderson Presents ), while her daughter Lil Heyman was production supervisor on Clash of the Titans .

Adrien Brody gets away from a deadly mutant being to a high school teacher in "Detachment". He plays substitute teacher Henry Barthes and his point of view on the faculty of the high school he's working at for a couple of weeks. He's part of a cast for the Tony Kaye film which includes Christina Hendricks, Lucy Liu, Blythe Danner, Marcia Gay Harden and James Caan. Principal photography is already underway with no set release date for the Paper Street Films production. Whether or not you like him, Adrien Brody sure knows how to branch himself out in different roles throughout the years. Between his Oscar-winning role in "The Pianist", his travels in "The Darjeeling Limited" to his latest part in "Splice", he's not stopping anytime soon. Right now he's in the middle of filming his role in Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris", out in theaters next year.Source: Variety

We reported a couple of weeks back that Radical Studios teamed up with Sam Worthington's Full Clip Productions on an imprint deal. What that entailed was to create comics that could/would eventually be made into feature length films if the opportunity presents itself.   Several of us from the press were able to sit down with Sam Worthington, John and Michael Schwarz on their sudden turn of events. How did this all form? Well it all started with a simple little trip to the massive San Diego Comic-Con this time last year. Once Worthington shoved avid comic book reader Michael Schwarz out the door, everything slowly started to form into place. "Honestly I was expecting (Michael) to come back drunk and say 'thanks for the opportunity'. I didn't think he'd come back hooked up with Barry Levine and Radical." The comic business is as difficult as any other industry to break into, but there's a recent glimmer that one day your property could make it's way onto the big screen. Then again, you can have it where the comic and the film are being developed at the same time, but Worthington frowns upon it. "I think that's arrogantly egotistical in the sense that you're not even -- that you're going to have what you think you will. Essentially our idea is, through any kind of creative force, is to create a good story. We're comic book fans, so let's create a comic book. If down the line Radical decides to pursue this further then that's a great opportunity for us.   The trio have not just become new friends, they've known each other for almost fifteen years. Of course that makes working with each other on these two properties all the more easier. "We work pretty fast and since we've known each other for so long we're not afraid to be brutually honest with each other and say 'Mate, that idea sucked. I see what your doing there, you've written this for Lucy Liu you f*ck'."   The three are making waves at Radical right now, between their upcoming six issue series "Damaged" and their upcoming graphic novel "Patriots". "Damaged is about basically brotherhood. Two cops, one becomes a vigilante. It's basically about redemption, passing fathers and sons, and all of these kinds of brotherly things that these guys have come ad dealt with in their lives set in a violent kind of noir-like world. Patriots is quite simple; there's seven continents in the world, if you had to sacrifice one continent and make it six would you do it?"   One of the most admirable parts of the entire conversation was the constant gratitude they dished out to everyone at Radical. "We're a bunch of young, idealistic Australians who happen to be able to play in your pool. Some other people have opened up to us, and we're lucky enough to have all of these creative kinds of outlets over here to help us get involved. It shows that the spirit that America has, the American industry creativity it has where anything is possible."  Be sure to look out for Radical at next week's San Diego Comic-Con where several signings will be going on at their booth. "Damaged" comes out in comic stores next February.Source:

I hear at least a half dozen actors have read or have been informally approached for the two detective roles, including Skeet Ulrich, James Van Der Beek, Michael Rapaport, Michael Ealy, Dylan Walsh and Dean Cain. Clearly, NBC and Dick Wolf are casting a wide net for the leads of the new Law & Order series, Law & Order: Los Angeles. The producers have been looking for a big-name actor to play the prosecutor, ADA Peter Morales. And I hear there may be interest in Lucy Liu for another role, possibly the captain. Gary Oldman has joined the voice cast of DreamWorks Animation's upcoming sequel Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom. According to HeatVision, Oldman will voice a character named Peacock. The original all-star cast is set to return, including Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu and David Cross. A new villain has emerged with a mysterious weapon so powerful it threatens the very existence of kung fu. It is up to Po and the Furious Five to protect all that they know. After hearing that screenwriter Charlie Kaufman was polishing off the script for DreamWorks Animation's sequel Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom, Heat Vision reports Gary Oldman (The Book of Eli, The Dark Knight) will join Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, David Cross and Dustin Hoffman for the action-packed follow-up. Though we heard the story follows Po and The Furious Five vanquishing a new weapon that threatens to destroy kung fu, Heat Vision says the story follows Po's search for other pandas and his run-in with a group of bandits. Maybe they're the ones with this weapon? Anyway, Oldman will be voicing a character named Peacock who helps Po find the bandits but is more than he seems. More than likely, that means he'll become the story's villain. This isn't the first time Oldman has lent his voice to animation as the actor has ...

Several years ago, I attended the opening party of Coco De Mer, a high-end erotic and sex toy shop in Los Angeles. Deepak Chopra headlined the event along with Dave Stewart and Ringo Starr. The store sells the book Deepak Chopra's Kama Sutra on universal themes of love, sexuality and spirituality. Still, the physician and natural medicine guru could have been wary of endorsing such an event. Instead, he exuberantly supported it. Cool dude, I thought.

Recently, Chopra impressed me again. This time he was with Donna Karan at ABC Carpet & Home in New York City to talk about another universal subject, "Design, Beauty & Commerce; Serving as a Tool for Social Evolution." T: The New York Times Style Magazine sponsored the event and it drew big names like Lucy Liu and Hugh Jackman.

Chopra is friends with Donna Karan and Paulette Cole, who owns ABC Carpet & Home, as well as many other designers such as Diane von Furstenberg and Calvin Klein . But his connection to the fashion world appears to run deeper than that. Again, it's an everything-is-connected theme: Fashion, design and beauty have been a part of our humanity forever and, in the future, could play a role in righting our planet's wrongs, he said.

In real life, Penn, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu were enjoying an intimate Rufus Wainwright concert at the Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC. Scarlett arrived solo and looking rather unassuming in her casual jacket and glasses, but found Drew and Lucy in the crowd. Scarlett has a busy Spring schedule ahead as the promotional tour for Iron Man 2 starts to rev up next month before the movie opens on May 7.
