It wasn't her husband Chris Martin, though - instead, it was Gary Lightbody of the band Snow Patrol. She's back in England after a trip to the States, where she filmed Love Don't Let Me Down and took in a Jay-Z show in NYC. Deadline Hollywood has learned that Gwyneth Paltrow is joining the cast of Steven Soderbergh's action-thriller Contagion that includes Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Marion Cotillard.

Just last week it was discovered that filmmaker Steven Soderbergh would be following up his female spy movie Knockout (which is currently shooting) with a deadly virus thriller called Contagion, set to star Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and Jude Law. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Gwyneth Paltrow may be the latest to join the impressive cast. The script, written by Scott Z. Burns (The Informant!, The Bourne Ultimatum), as expected is about an attempt to contain a deadly viral outbreak. Contagion has a $60 million budget from Participant Media but is still waiting to be picked up by a distributor first. Read on! I do like Paltrow, but only in the right roles (like Pepper Potts), and since we don't know anything else about Contagion and/or what role she'll be playing, it's a bit hard to comment on this news.
