Last May's chilling Grey's Anatomy season finale was so perfect just about the only thing missing was a big musical number. And I've just learned that one was actually filmed, but didn't make the cut because of all the characters that were shot. Want more Grey's scoop? Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now! Today’s deadline day for Emmy voters to turn in their ballots, and based on her gut-wrenching performance in last month’s Grey’s Anatomy finale, I’m guessing Chandra Wilson’s name will be checked off a lot in the supporting actress race. As Bailey helplessly looked on as fellow doc Percy’s life slipped away, her breakdown was as shocking

Tonight on Grey's Anatomy, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tries to prep the team with a mandatory sensitivity training before they admit a 700-pound patient with compounded medical issues - the case proves to be challenging in every sense of the word, and Cristina (Sandra Oh) wants to know if they can tell jokes if it's really funny.
'Grey's Anatomy' Fan Columnist: Hook Line, and a Bit of a Stinker Elsewhere on "How Insensitive," Derek (Patrick Dempsey) comes face to face with a former patient's husband in a wrongful death deposition. Finally, Cristina spends time with a heart patient's daughter, which opens up some old wounds for her. Promos after the jump:

Demi Lovato is really hyping her upcoming guest spot on Grey's Anatomy. She posted a slightly scary photo from what appears to be the filming of her Grey's stint in May, where she'll play a patient being treated for possible schizophrenia at Seattle Grace. Did she/someone else just try to literally scratch her eyes out?
It's raining famous patients on Grey's Anatomy, as Mandy Moore is also checking in on Seattle Grace for the show's "enormous" May 20 finale (ABC spokesperson's word). She'll reportedly play a patient under treatment by Bailey (Chandra Wilson).

According to the roundup posted earlier this week, tonight's Grey's Anatomy episode is one heavily featuring Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). It's going to take a lot to have "Sympathy for the Parents" top the previous Owen-centric episode.
Catch More Details for this Episode Before Demi Lovato Takes Over On tonight's installment, Alex's younger brother Aaron shows up at Seattle Grace-Mercy West. It's not just for a routine visit; it's because he has hernia. Though he isn't worried, there's a problem. Now, Alex has to convince Bailey (Chandra Wilson) to approve his pro bono surgery.

Alas, after a mostly awesome episode, Grey's Anatomy takes a break this week and we are left to contemplate on the merits of Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) surgical field and whether or not Callie's (Sara Ramirez) sagely counsel on dating are really true.
Don't forget to catch: Grey's Anatomy: Guess Who Teddy Will Hook Up With But we have this promo for the upcoming Grey's Anatomy episode - "Suicide is Painless" - and if you think Owen's (Kevin McKidd) PTSD ordeal is a thing of the past, think again. In fact, not only will we get to see its present-day repercussions, we'll zoom right into where it started: in the frontlines of Iraq. Yes, this season is proving to be very flashback-heavy, indeed. Promo after the jump:
www.buddytv.com | March 16, 2010
OK, so now Sloan's targeting Teddy? What is happening to Grey's Anatomy?
Don't forget to catch: 'Grey's Anatomy' Fan Columnist: Reviewing Perfect Little Accident The recent visit of I-want-to-stay-up-for-my-own-surgery Harper Avery has everyone in Seattle Grace in a competitive mood. It's actually a good thing that Derek (Patrick Dempsey) is already Chief of Surgery, otherwise he'd be so joining the fray. But as it turns out, it's the Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) who are sort of butting heads over a difficult surgery. As Chief, Derek picks Owen, leaving Richard bitter. Elsewhere on "Push" Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is jumpy about her date with anesthesiologist Ben, more so when Callie (Sara Ramirez) nonchalantly informs her that third date is sex date. Funny promos after the jump:
www.buddytv.com | March 11, 2010
Why has the Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) gone antagonistic on everybody on Grey's Anatomy? After butting heads with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) for several episodes, it appears that he's now setting his sights on Owen (Kevin McKidd). Not that he's doing it intentionally, though, but his storylines had just been so negative.
Don't forget to catch: 'Grey's Anatomy' Fan Columnist: Reviewing Perfect Little Accident On "Push" a patient needs an extremely difficult surgery, and with Harper Avery's recent visit, everyone appears to be in a competitive mood. It's Derek who's deciding who should get it, and he gives it to McArmy, leaving Richard embittered. On a much happier note, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is understandably jumpy about her second date with Ben. Promos after the jump:
www.buddytv.com | March 10, 2010
This is it, Grey's Anatomy fans. In one episode, we'll get to see not only young Bailey (Chandra Wilson), but also sober Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) and un-dead Ellis (Kate Burton), both in their younger years, you know, when they were still flirting in between surgeries and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) was a tiny tot playing with her Anatomy Jane doll.
On "Time Warp" Derek (Patrick Dempsey) revives the Seattle Grace lecture series where seasoned vets present to the group significant surgical cases from their pasts. Bailey reflects on her first days on the hospital, Callie (Sara Ramirez) looks back on a special polio case, while Richard recalls a case in which he and Ellis worked on a patient diagnosed with GRID, the virus that would later be called AIDS.
www.buddytv.com | February 18, 2010
For starters, the kid who plays little Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), she has Meredith eyes.
We've already heard much about this time-jumping episode of Grey's Anatomy, and we know that we'll find the root of Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) Nazi ways as well as that of Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) and Ellis. But there's more to this episode of Grey's than a little blast from the past.
www.buddytv.com | February 17, 2010
It's probably all the Lost fever that has both Losties and non-Losties gripping with concepts of time and space, but Grey's Anatomy will also find itself doing some time-jumps on its upcoming installment. But unlike Lost and its crazy mind-numbing storylines, Grey's Anatomy will be infinitely simpler: people will just be kind of younger.
On "Time Warp" we'll get to see Bailey (Chandra Wilson) before she became the Nazi that she is, the beginning of the Chief's (James Pickens, Jr.) affair with Mer's (Ellen Pompeo) mom Ellis, and Callie (Sara Ramirez) pre-Seattle Grace.
www.buddytv.com | February 16, 2010
It's Valentine's Day on Grey's Anatomy and just like most fans, we're excited to see our dear little Nazi (Chandra Wilson) get some loving! We already met the guy in the last episode (the magazine-reading anesthesiology guy with whom Bailey had a tiff because the patient kind of woke up in the middle of surgery), but we didn't know anyone can rattle Bailey like this. And with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) teasing her ("Oh my god, she likes him!"), it's hilarious.
Elsewhere on "Valentine's Day Massacre" dozens of injured people are rushed to Seattle Grace, after the roof collapses at a popular romantic restaurant. As a result, Derek (Patrick Dempsey) as new Chief of Surgery, has to face the press, just one of his many new roles. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) for her part tries to get into terms with her new duties as the Chief's wife.
www.buddytv.com | February 11, 2010
After a one-week break, Grey's Anatomy returns tonight and - guess what - Derek (Patrick Dempsey) is interim chief. Will things be dreamy on Seattle Grace? Of course not.
Already, he feels the brunt of leadership, as he faces a potential lawsuit after a patient of Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) awakens from anesthesia in the middle of surgery.
www.buddytv.com | February 4, 2010
Ever wondered how Bailey (Chandra Wilson) was like when she was an intern? The February 18 episode of Grey's Anatomy should have that covered, and if you're like most Grey's fans, you should be in for a real shocker.
As you can see on the photo courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, the flashback-laden episode will introduce us to Bailey in the early 2000s, when she was just an intern and she was under a Bailey-like supervisor, played by MIssi Pyle from Heroes. And get this - she was called Mandy then. There's just no reconciling the Bailey we know now with the name Mandy, is there?
www.buddytv.com | January 24, 2010
By now I trust that every self-respecting Grey's Anatomy fans have by now seen the most recent episode, which is also a cross-over with its daughter show Private Practice. Thankfully, there are a lot of storylines on this episode that moved considerably, including: Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) love life, Mark (Eric Dane) and Lexie's (Chyler Leigh) relationship, and - of course - Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Yang's (Sandra Oh) very precarious tandem. We have also identified the instrument to Karev's (Justin Chambers) infidelity, and it's a little anti-climactic if you ask me.
It's kind of depressing, however, that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and her little baby-voice and sad eyes have been reduced to being the marriage police, watching over Alex and Mercy Wester Reed as they make little bargains that included surgeries and on-call rooms. But on to other things (because the Chief's drinking problems are slightly uninteresting, really).
www.buddytv.com | January 16, 2010
Things are always chaotic on the relationships department for most people on Seattle Grace, and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) seems to be the only one who's (relatively) immune to all the hullabaloo. Sure, she's got her own sordid love life - it was even highlighted on the dinner table on Grey's Anatomy's holiday episode thanks to her daddy - but overall, Bailey's been quite able to separate her personal life from her professional duties on the ABC medical series.
From the looks of it, though, that's going to change soon. TV Guide reports that Grey's Anatomy has cast a love interest for our beloved little tyrant.
www.buddytv.com | December 20, 2009
Well so much for non-awkward dinner conversations. Bailey's daddy should meet Callie's daddy. Maybe a few drinks with the Chief?
On tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy, we found out that: 1. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) has an 18-year-old long-lost daughter, Little Sloan (guest star Leven Rambin), 2. There's someone who can effectively shut Bailey (Chandra Wilson) up, at least for a while, 3. the Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) has a drinking problem, 4. Owen (Kevin McKidd) had feelings for Teddy (guest star Kim Raver), 5. Izzie (Katherine Heigl) is once again MIA, 6. Bailey played the oboe as a kid, 7. no bonuses for the surgeons! This is an outrage!
www.buddytv.com | November 19, 2009
It's Thanksgiving in Seattle Grace!
Anywhere else actually, but on Grey's Anatomy, Miranda (Chandra Wilson) is visited by her father William, who disapproves of her choices in life. Elsewhere Thatcher Grey questions the Chief's (James Pickens, Jr.) behavior as Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) comes to his defense. Cristina (Sandra Oh), meanwhile, begins suspecting that something either is or was up between Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Teddy (guest star Kim Raver). As she says, she may be insensitive, but she picks these things up.

They may not be real doctors, but they cure what ails us on TV. Well, most of the time at least. Either way, we live and die with these characters weekly. Here are The Hollywood Gossip's 10 favorite TV doctors ... 10. Dr. Fitch Cooper, Nurse Jackie. "Doctors don't heal, they diagnose. We heal." Okay, that line is actually from the title character. But "Coop" is a great supplement to Jackie. He also sleeps with Jennie Garth and stars in New Moon! 9. Dr. Andy Yablonski, Three Rivers. If CBS' new show about transplants seen via different points of view survives, it can thank Alex O'Loughlin. Hot.
8. Dr. Olivia Benford, FlashForward. ABC's uneven sci-fi series has a lot of flaws. Sonya Walger (a.k.a. Penny from Lost) is actually not among them! 7. Drs. Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon, Nip/Tuck. Whether the plastic surgeons are fathering illegitimate children, face-disfiguring serial rapists, or performing tummy tucks, there's not much to like about these two. Just how we like it. 6. Dr. Charlotte King, Private Practice. The Grey's Anatomy spinoff features a number of worthy candidates, but we're taking KaDee Strickland's smack-talking, ass-kicking, emotionally stunted and gorgeous Southern belle. 5. Dr. Leo Spaceman, 30 Rock. When you need medical advice ... seek it from anyone but Dr. Leo Spaceman (pronounced spa-che-men). But for comedy, Chris Parnell's doctor may be unrivaled (as are his 30 Rock quotes).
4. Drs. Miranda Bailey and Cristina Yang, Grey's Anatomy. We know. How do we not pick McDreamy or McSteamy? Because Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh have nine Emmy nominations combined for a reason, that's why. 3. Dr. Elliot Reid, Scrubs. We've had a huge crush on her for years. She's part neurotic nerdy and part Barbie doll. Basically ... marry us, Elliot? 2. Dr. Jack Shephard, Lost. If Jack weren't aboard Oceanic Flight 815, the castaways would have been lost without their de facto leader in Seasons One and Two. Then Ben would have died in Season Three! Thank you Jack! 1. Dr. Gregory House, House M.D. ''What would you prefer, a doctor who holds your hand while you die or one who ignores you while you get better?" That would be House summed up in one quote. And he's still the best.

You know it's a tumor-centric Grey's Anatomy episode when scary sound effects reverberate when people discuss the mother of all tumors / the great white of tumors / the you-can-retire-on-this-tumor tumor. On "Give Peace a Chance" the hospital's lab-tech Isaac has an inoperable tumor and everyone is thrilled / amazed at it, probably in spite of themselves, since a tumor's supposed to be a bad thing, right?
But Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) hubris / determination is at an all-time high, so he's up to the challenge of taking on a nearly inoperable tumor. The Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) obviously won't hear any of it and points this out to him quite emphatically. Unfortunately for him, the rest of the hospital - most notably Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) - are all in Team Derek and stopped short of tackling the chief just so he wouldn't interfere with the 10-hour super surgery.

While watching one clip from the new Grey's Anatomy episode "I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watchin' Me" I stopped and thought, "Am I watching Fringe?" A woman is wheeled in to Seattle Grace with her paranoid schizophrenic son who claims that aliens have impregnated her mother. And true enough, when Bailey (Chandra Wilson) checks her, there is a pulsating mass on her abdomen. Yikes.
You should also watch out for a very funny bear impression from the most unlikely person.

If you weren't glued to your TV last night ... good for you. Social activities are preferable (as is reading Hollywood Gossip online). But if you were in fact plopped on the couch, there was plenty to entertain you. In addition to the premiere of FlashForward, the guilty pleasure that is The Vampire Diaries and The Office quotes that are always hilarious, there was this: Grey’s Anatomy kicking off its sixth season with a two-hour episode, picking up where the May's cliffhanger left off and leaving many a tissue box emptied. Frankly, it was one of the best episodes the long-running has offered us in years - and this is from someone who's seen all 104 of them (sad, but very true). Here were some of the highlights of the premiere, in which George was laid to rest and the doctors of Seattle Grace struggled to cope in their own ways:
www.thehollywoodgossip.com | September 25, 2009
Continued from here.
The second hour of the two-part Grey's Anatomy premiere begins on day 20 after George's death - a neither here nor there kind of time leap. Not too soon but not too far off, too. We open with ceviche Clara actually doing well, until she finds out about an infection that might require her to have a poo bag. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is furious at Cristina (Sandra Oh) for telling the patient - I have no clue what the deal is here. Callie (Sara Ramirez), who was on a roll, is still upset at the chief and gets a job at Mercy West.
www.buddytv.com | September 25, 2009
Back to regular programming on Grey's Anatomy, and we know who's dying and living, but we still love to see how they do it.
While both Izzie (Katherine Heigl) and George (TR Knight) are on the operating table, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) tells us the five stages of grieving. Stevens open her eyes, and George - surprise, surprise - flat lines. And Callie's (Sara Ramirez) eyes are all we need to see. Callie suffers a breakdown. She can't breathe, and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and the rest go to the OR. "We did everything," Derek (Patrick Dempsey) tells them.
